About
Essays on consciousness and reducing suffering.
This blog is largely inspired by the ideas of Andrés Gómez Emilsson and some of the lineages at the Qualia Research Institute, in particular David Pearce and Michael Edward Johnson. Brian Tomasik and Magnus Vinding at the Center for Reducing Suffering have also positively shaped my views.
"Globally bound" is an allusion to the concept of global binding in philosophy of mind, one of the most profound facts about the nature of reality. If you're not intrigued and confused by the phenomenal binding problem, just give it some time.
I'm also motivated to reduce extreme suffering globally and believe that doing something about it (if we can) is a core aspect of living ethically. We can do better.
